Alex Gutíerrez, design director and associate principal at Carrier Johnson + Culture, will discuss the firm’s latest downtown project rising on the site of the old county courthouse blocks. West, nearing completion at 1011 Union St. (front left in the rendering above), is a $450 million, 37-story, mixed-use project with 290,000 square feet of office, 10,000 square feet of retail, and 431 apartments, with a pool deck and fitness center on the top floor. Two blocks north of West, the Front & A project at 201 W. A St. will be a 34-story apartment building with a Whole Foods grocery on the ground and mezzanine levels. Completion there is expected in 2026.
