She teaches Neuroscience to Architects at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design and is Visiting Scholar at the University of California San Diego where she is developing research to study the influence of the environment on the mind and body.

Dr. Edelstein works with the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture to develop their research, professional and educational programs. She liaises with the Academy of Architecture for Health and is a Principal Investigator for the 2005 AIA Latrobe Fellowship.

Her work includes directed design projects for laboratory improvements at the Salk Institute, and educational facilities at San Diego State University. She developed research and clinical programs at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, both in London and California. Her work seeks to bring together the database of knowledge offered by psychological, sociological and physiological disciplines to the benefit of health care design.
