NewSchool of Architecture and Design
1249 F Street
9:30 a.m.
The Friends of San Diego Architecture traditionally ends its lecture series each year with a panel or lead speaker summing up current trends and presenting a status report on where we are and where we’re headed. With so many major projects under way or planned downtown and throughout the region — and the World Design Capital 2024 focused on San Diego and Tijuana — there’s plenty to consider at the granular and global scale.
Howard Blackson is an urban designer, site designer and regulatory “wrangler” from the contextual school of thought. He currently is a member of the Balboa Park Committee where he will serve on the upcoming design review assistance subcommittee. He’s a longtime leader in the Congress for the New Urbanism. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geography at the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s in urban design at the University of Westminster, London. He lives in South Park.
Please join us in person for our final lecture of the 2021-2022 season!
We are excited to see you in person! Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for coffee, snacks, and catching up with old friends.
Our lecture will be held in the auditorium at the NewSchool of Architecture and Design in Downtown San Diego at 1249 F Street.
