Architect and Developer Andrew Malick will present his Parco National City project at our November lecture. It’s a model, Andrew says, for how we can transition from a suburban to an urban city.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the real estate development industry. During his career he has worked in all three legs of the development process:  construction, design, and development. He was one of the first to see value in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, where he has designed and developed multiple projects.

When not working on his projects, Andrew works passionately to help local and state government adapt housing policy to align with sustainable development principles. He co-authored an amendment to the San Diego Municipal Code that makes it easier for developers to build micro-units in an effort to boost market-rate affordable housing.

He has lectured at San Diego State University, UC San Diego, and the University of San Diego. He serves on the Urban Land Institute’s local management committee and chairs both the Small-Scale Infill Development Council and the Transit-Oriented Development Council. He’s a founding member of the Housing You Matter Coalition and has served twice on the Orchids & Onions jury. He tweets on all things “land use” @andrewmalick and can be reached as his company website, malickinfill.com.
