Frank Wolden has been involved in transforming San Diego’s urban core from a blighted area to a complete community for twenty-five years. He has worked in both the public and private sectors. He worked for the City of San Diego, Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC), the Jerde Partnership in Los Angeles, and served as Design Principal at Carrier Johnson Architects for 16 years. During that time the company designed many of the residential complexes and mixed-use buildings which populate the vibrant downtown today. A favorite of ballpark fans is Diamond View Tower, the 15 story office building located just past the right field of Petco Park.
Mr. Wolden’s creative view of the city has led to his reputation as an artist and urban theorist. He is the founding principal of Skyport Studio, dedicated to designing both architecture and urban space, but also to developing and illustrating visionary concepts for new urban spaces.
